Jordanthorpe Health Centre
One of Sheffield’s flagship health centres has been remodelled to accommodate another GP practice.
Capital works to support changes to local service provision.
As of the end of March 2020 works completed on a refit of Jordanthorpe Health Centre, creating twelve new high-spec GP consulting rooms. The works were completed on behalf of Community 1st Sheffield as the building owner and the lead tenant, Community Health Partnerships.
The extra capacity created by this project has enabled Meadowgreen surgery and their patients to relocate from their previous locations on School Lane and Low Edges Road. This has allowed their four GPs and support team to start delivering services this week from the modern fit-for purpose facilities.
Jon Keegan, General Manager of Community 1st Sheffield said: “Jordanthorpe Health Centre was designed to be flexible to respond to the changing needs of the local population. We are delighted that this remodelling project enables more local patients to access these high-quality facilities.”
Throughout the works, the building continued to provide the existing high levels of services to registered patients from the Clover Group Practice and Community Dental Clinic as they remained in operation during the works. The Community 1st appointed construction and property management teams worked effectively to minimise any disruption to the day-to-day running of the building. They completed the project two weeks ahead of schedule.
Community 1st Sheffield has developed a total of seven primary care centres across the city for our local NHS and local authority clients. In addition, Community 1st Sheffield have also undertaken a considerable number of minor works and property adaptations to reflect the changing demands of Primary Care Services across Sheffield.
